Medical Assistant/Back Office Assistant

  • 8am•5pm, Monday-Friday Job Overview We are seeking to hire a Medical Assistant who will do clerical work and direct patient care as needed for our private practice family medicine clinic to help care for our wonderful patients.

Responsibilities for Medical Assistant Answer incoming phone calls, take detailed messages, and fulfill patient requests. Schedule patient appointments and verify wellness eligibility Triage medical concerns appropriately Assist with medication refills Complete prior authorizations and appropriately handle insurance denials/appeals Assist with referrals and orders, and arrange laboratory services Prepare patients for examination, obtain vitals, and review/record patient's health and medication history, administer injections and medications, and perform routine specimen collection and tests. Prepare equipment and examination rooms, and clean instruments Assist providers with medical treatments, procedures, and exams Manage inventory of medical supplies and equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies Assist patients with necessary transfer needs Ensure patient satisfaction is being met to the highest standards Laugh with us, have a great sense of humor, be able to have fun while working hard, and ensure patients are happy and satisfied with their care! Qualifications for Medical Assistant/Patient Care Coordinator High school diploma or GED required. Medical Assistant certification is highly preferred. Billing/Coding experience preferred. Healthcare background is required. Excellent interpersonal, leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner, with confidence to handle any situation. Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and highly organized Firm grasp on medical practices, knowledge of patient care and examination procedures Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times Be willing to show up to work with a positive attitude every day, ready to work hard and put patients first.
