Medical Assistant needed for growing OBGYN practice Requirements High School diploma or GED required Graduate from Accredited Medical Assistant Program Certification or Registration Preferred Knowledge of HIPAA, CLIA, OSHA, Medical Terminology, Healthcare field, EHR Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow The ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections Responsibilities Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in the patient's chart Perform MA procedures under the supervision of a physician or Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) Assist physician or APC in exam rooms Assist RN's as necessary Provide phlebotomy and injection to patients Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or APC Ensure all related reports, labs and information are filed and available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls Process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and APC Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.) All other duties as assigned by the clinical coordinator Adhere to ICARE values, Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence Rewards Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Paid-Time-Off (PTO), Holiday Pay Company Paid Life Insurance, Disability Insurance Reimbursement for CEU/CMU Education for required licenses.
