Job Description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Charge Poster to join our medical billing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately posting charges to patient accounts, ensuring that all billing information is correctly entered into electronic health record (EHR) systems and electronic medical record (EMR) platforms. Your expertise will help streamline revenue cycle processes, improve data accuracy, and support efficient claim submission. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial health of healthcare operations while working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Duties Review and interpret medical documentation, including medical records and physician notes, to accurately assign billing codes such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes. Post charges for services rendered using EHR and EMR systems, ensuring all entries are precise and complete. Verify proper coding for Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRGs), CPT codes, and ICD coding to facilitate correct reimbursement. Collaborate with medical office staff to clarify documentation or resolve discrepancies in billing records. Maintain organized records of posted charges, edits, and adjustments for audit purposes. Stay updated on current coding guidelines, insurance policies, and compliance regulations related to medical coding and billing. Qualifications Proven experience in medical office administration or medical billing with a strong understanding of medical terminology and records management. Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding systems, and medical coding standards. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for charge entry and record keeping. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to ensure accuracy in posting charges. Ability to interpret complex medical documentation and translate it into accurate billing entries. Prior experience in a healthcare setting involving medical billing or coding is highly preferred.
