Lovell Federal Health Care Center (hereafter FHCC), its associated Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs), and affiliated healthcare clinics.

Medical Coders must provide remote coding services to our Veteran population located at Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (hereafter FHCC), its associated Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs), and affiliated healthcare clinic. Medical Coders are required to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and consistent care to individuals.
Pay Rate:
$35.27 / hr + $5.09 H&W fringe
Duties :
Review health care provider medical record coding for completeness and accuracy, clarify and correct provider coding as necessary. Reviews and screens the entire medical record to abstract medical, surgical, laboratory, pharmaceutical, radiologic, demographic, social and administrative data from the medical record in a timely manner. Ensures that all diagnoses and procedures that may impact the facility's reimbursement are identified and documented by the physician, sequenced correctly, and coded in an accurate and in an ethical manner for optimum reimbursement. Shall determine most appropriate codes for routine, and/or new and unusual diagnoses and procedures not clearly listed in ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT and HCPCS. Query providers via encrypted Outlook email using the Provider Query Foundation OneNote which is where staff can find language examples that can assist in constructing compliant queries and/or coding clarification to ensure accurate coding reporting. Qualification(s): Minimum of three (3) years of continuous coding experience One of the following certifications from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA): Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) Certified Coding Specialist (CCS or CCS-P) Registered HEALTH Information Administrator (RHIA) American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
