The successful candidate will clean and maintain the assigned area(s) of the workplace, including office and shop facilities. Additionally, you will work with hand tools for light repairs around the property and in the industrial shop. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary based on the daily needs of the business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Maintain a keep a clean and orderly work environment to protect the safety and health of employees. Clean specific common areas (rest rooms, kitchen, offices, parking lot and industrial floor, as needed. Use hand tools to assist with light maintenance around the office and manufacturing facility (i.e. hanging wall items, toilet clogs, door handles, etc.). Properly utilize and maintain floor cleaning machine. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Keep grounds maintained, remove light snow and salts walkways during the winter months and create seasonal planters in the spring/summer. Follow procedures for storage (including seasonal items) and dispose of trash. Transport, make deliveries and pick up a variety of items needed for meetings and customer events, around the Chicago area. Operate and drive a forklift in the shop area to assist with moving parts in the shop. Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision. Perform all other janitorial duties according to property requirements.QUALIFICATIONS
Previous custodial experience in an industrial workshop setting. Experience working with hand tools, hammers and drills. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision. Ability to fulfill the physical demands of the essential functions of the job. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs. Must be able to follow basic safety procedures. Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Experienced fork lift driver is desired. Willingness to be a team player and demonstrate a strong work ethic. Perform all other janitorial duties according to property requirements.
