Coder/Charge Poster

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Coder/Charge Poster to join our team with Radiation Oncology Associates. We are an independent, physician owned private practice and have been providing radiation for cancer patients since 1986. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately assigning medical codes and posting charges to ensure seamless billing processes. Your expertise in medical coding, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), HCPCS (CMS procedure codes), and ICD-10 coding systems, will directly impact the efficiency of revenue cycle management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care by maintaining precise and compliant medical records and billing information. Duties Review and analyze medical documentation to assign appropriate ICD-10 diagnosis codes, CPT, and HCPCS procedure codes. Ensure all charges are accurately posted in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and Medical Record systems in a timely manner. Verify the completeness and correctness of coding against medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. Collaborate with billing and collections teams to resolve discrepancies related to medical coding and billing errors. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, insurance requirements, and changes in healthcare regulations. Assist in auditing medical records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with coding standards. Support the transition to new EMR/EHR systems by providing accurate data entry and troubleshooting as needed. Correct any coding errors presented by the AR team if necessary. Qualifications Proven experience in medical coding, including proficiency

HCPCS, CPT

coding, ICD-10, and medical billing processes. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology essential for accurate code assignment. Familiarity with Medical office experience and familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Knowledge of medical collection procedures and healthcare reimbursement processes. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in coding and data entry. Ability to interpret complex medical records and documentation efficiently. Certification in Medical Coding (such as CPC or CCS) is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of radiation oncology coding is preferred by not mandatory.
