Minneapolis Radiation Oncology has an opening for a full-time Medical Coder based at our Business Office in Edina. This position is currently training full-time in our office for the first six months and then will have the option to transition to a hybrid schedule working between the Business Office, our clinic locations across the Twin Cities Metro and working remotely from home occasionally.

Primary duties:

Reviews patient charts to extract accurate codes for the medical billing process Reports missing or incomplete documentation, investigates issues thoroughly Travels to various clinics to build professional relationships with clinic staff, review documents, transport paperwork Follows coding guidelines and legal requirements to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations Assists with Prior Authorization process, appeals and other documents if needed Provides back-up to other Coders and Compliance Supervisor as needed

Qualifications:

Previous medical coding experience is given first consideration or minimum of 3 years medical billing/accounts receivable experience Solid knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes Ability to become a Certified Radiation Oncology Coder within first 2 years Ability to drive to different clinic locations and interact professionally with all levels of clinic personnel Must be self-motivated, independent, organized and have a strong attention to detail Ability to multi-task and contribute as a positive team player is also required Previous Radiation Oncology experience is welcomed All our positions are required to provide documentation of the annual flu vaccination, or would need to wear a mask during the flu season.
