Overview Join our healthcare team as a Medical Coder, where your expertise will be vital in translating medical documentation into precise, standardized codes that facilitate accurate billing and seamless revenue cycle management. In this role, you will ensure compliance with medical coding guidelines, support medical record integrity, and contribute to the efficient processing of health insurance claims. Responsibilities Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes in accordance with current medical coding guidelines. Ensure accurate coding for all services rendered, including procedures, diagnoses, and treatments for billing purposes. Utilize billing software and electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems to input coded data accurately and efficiently. Collaborate with medical staff and billing staff to resolve discrepancies related to medical records or insurance claims. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health insurance claim processing procedures, third-party billing requirements, and revenue cycle management practices. Support the preparation of clean claims for insurance submission by verifying all necessary documentation is complete and correctly coded. Stay informed about changes in ICD coding standards, CPT coding updates, and medical terminology to ensure compliance and accuracy. Qualifications Past experience or education in medical coding is required. Strong understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems and medical terminology is required. Experience working with billing software and EMR/EHR systems is preferred. Knowledge of health insurance claim processing, third-party billing practices, and revenue cycle management processes is preferred. Ability to interpret complex medical records accurately while adhering to coding guidelines is required. Attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently is required.
Pay:
$17.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per week
