Discussed During the Interview We're hiring experienced Medical Coders for inpatient and outpatient coding roles at a leading academic medical center in Las Vegas. The positions are responsible for accurate coding, medical record abstraction, identifying coding opportunities, and supporting appropriate reimbursement and compliance.

Compensation Inpatient Coder:

$28.24-$43.78/hour

Outpatient Coder:

$24.15-$37.43/hour Key Responsibilities ~ Review medical records and accurately assign appropriate codes. ~ Research and abstract clinical information to ensure complete and billable coding. ~ Apply ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, and applicable coding guidelines. ~ Identify coding opportunities, discrepancies, and areas for improvement. ~ Monitor coding trends and escalate issues to management. ~ Maintain department quality and productivity standards. ~ Review documentation for completeness and accuracy and submit queries when appropriate. ~ Review denials and assist with revenue cycle activities. ~ Use 3M 360 or similar computer-assisted coding/encoder systems . ~ Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information. Inpatient Coder - Requirements ~ High school diploma or equivalent. ~ 3+ years of inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting. ~ One or more of the following certifications: CCS, RHIA, or RHIT . ~ Knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, Medicare/IPPS regulations, and MS-DRG classification. ~ Strong medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical documentation knowledge. Outpatient Coder - Requirements ~ High school diploma or equivalent. ~ 2+ years of outpatient/professional coding experience. ~ Experience coding physician/clinician services in settings such as physician offices, ambulatory surgery centers, ED, hospitalist, or multidisciplinary medical practices. ~ One or more of the following certifications: CCS, CPC, COC, CCS-P, RHIA, or RHIT . ~ Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM/PCS, and outpatient/physician coding guidelines.
