• Part-time Midwest Neurosurgery Associates is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Coder to support our growing neurosurgical practice.

This is a coding-only position. There are no billing, collections, AR, or revenue cycle responsibilities. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented coder who enjoys focused, independent work reviewing surgical documentation and assigning accurate codes. What You'll Do Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for neurosurgical procedures and services Review operative reports and clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy Ensure compliance with payer guidelines and coding standards Identify documentation gaps and communicate with providers as needed Stay current on coding updates relevant to surgical specialties What You WON'T Do No billing or charge posting No collections or AR follow-up No revenue cycle or denial management No production quotas or unrealistic volume expectations Requirements Active coding certification ( CPC, CCS, or equivalent ) 2+ years of surgical coding experience

REQUIRED

Strong experience reviewing operative reports High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to work independently in a remote environment Preferred Experience Neurosurgery or spine coding experience IR or Hospital Coding experience Professional fee coding experience
