JOB TITLE
Certified Inpatient Coder
CONTRACT DURATION
: 6 months |
Contract-to-Hire SHIFT :
Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
LOCATION
:
Onsite, Edinburg, TX Required Qualifications:
3-5 years of coding experience required 3M Encoder experience required Inpatient coding experience preferred Active coding certification required:
AHIMA:
RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or
CCA, OR AAPC
Coding Certification Advanced knowledge of
ICD-10-CM/PCS
Knowledge of CPT and APC coding Experience with inpatient DRG assignment and validation Medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology knowledge Ability to review medical records, interpret relevant clinical/lab information, and accurately abstract coding data Strong computer/EHR skills High School Diploma/GED or higher required Medical Records/Healthcare degree or accredited coding education certificate preferred Key Responsibilities Accurately code inpatient medical records using
ICD-10-CM/PCS
Assign and validate DRGs Utilize 3M Encoder for coding and classification Review clinical documentation to support complete and accurate code assignment Abstract required data elements Work collaboratively with Coding leadership, CDI, Business Office, and Case Management Meet departmental productivity, accuracy, and timeliness standards Maintain coding certification and remain current on coding guidelines

Pay:
$30.00 - $33.00 per hour Application Question(s): This position requires one of the following certifications: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCA or AAPC Coding Cert. Do you have one or more of these certifications? If so, which ones? Have you worked with 3M Encoder within the last 2 years? This position requires a 10-Panel Drug Screen, a Lifetime Federal and State Criminal Background Check, and immunizations records for the HepB, HepC, MMR, and Varicella. Are you comfortable completing all of these items?
