This role is responsible for accurate CPT and ICD-10 coding for diagnostic imaging services, ensuring compliance with payer guidelines, and supporting timely, clean claims submission. The ideal candidate has strong radiology coding experience and is comfortable working directly with radiologists, billing staff, and compliance teams. Responsibilities Review radiology reports and assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and modifiers Code diagnostic imaging including CT, MRI, ultrasound, X-ray, and interventional procedures Ensure documentation supports CPT code selection and medical necessity Identify and correct coding errors prior to claim submission Work coding edits and denials related to medical necessity and documentation Collaborate with team to clarify documentation when needed Maintain compliance with CMS, payer, and regulatory guidelines Assist with audits and compliance reviews Support productivity and quality standards Experience Proven experience in medical coding, specifically within radiology or diagnostic imaging departments. 2 plus years of professional medical coding experience required Strong understanding of
DRG, CPT
coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards. Familiarity with medical billing processes and collections procedures. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems in a healthcare setting. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and diagnostic procedures related to radiology services. Prior work in a medical office environment is preferred but not required; excellent organizational skills are essential. Certifications Preferred CPC through AAPC or CCS through AHIMA Radiology coding certification strongly preferred Ability to interpret complex medical records accurately while adhering to confidentiality standards. $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
