Job Description

We are seeking a driven physician to lead our established Wound Care service line at Gadsden Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Alabama. This is a unique opportunity to step into a Medical Director role and take the helm of a thriving program, supported by a strong, built-in referral network. The position offers an exceptional work-life balance with a Monday through Friday schedule, no call, no inpatient consults, and half-days every
Friday Clinical Practice & Workload Role Focus:
100% Outpatient Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine.
Patient Volume:
Current daily volumes average 13 to 16 clinic patients and 2 to 4 Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) patients, with a strategic focus on expanding the service line and increasing the daily census.
Scope of Practice:
Comprehensive treatment of diabetic, venous/arterial, pressure, and surgical wounds.
Facility Resources:
Equipped with two (2) HBO chambers and an EMR system utilizing Luvo.
Support Staff:
You will be fully supported in the clinic by a team of Certified Wound Care RNs.
Referral Base:
Strong foundational referral pipeline established with local Podiatry, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and Family Practice providers.
Medical Director Responsibilities Time Allocation:
90% Clinical Practice / 10% Administrative Duties.
Leadership Scope:
Lead the development of the new service line through clinical chart review, policy development, and ongoing staff education.
Compensation:
Role includes a dedicated, separate Medical Director stipend in addition to clinical compensation.
Schedule & Lifestyle Schedule:
Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Fridays end at 12:00 PM (Noon).
Call Requirements:
None.
Inpatient Duties:
None (Strictly outpatient clinic operations).
Compensation & Incentives Financial Structure:
Base salary plus wRVU production model.
Additional Income:
Dedicated Medical Director stipend and Quality Bonuses.
Financial Assistance:
Student loan repayment program available.
Candidate Qualifications Preferred Specialties:
General Surgery, Podiatry, Plastic Surgery, & Vascular Surgery.

Both experienced physicians and new graduates are encouraged to apply. About the Hospital Gadsden Regional Medical Center is a 346-bed acute care hospital located in Gadsden, Alabama, approximately 60 miles northeast of Birmingham. The hospital offers a broad range of services, including emergency care, cardiology and cardiac surgery, cancer care, women's and children's services, and inpatient and outpatient surgical services across multiple specialties. Gadsden Regional serves as a major healthcare provider for Etowah County and the surrounding region. Community Gadsden is situated along the Coosa River in northeast Alabama and offers outdoor recreation such as fishing, boating, hiking, and golf. Located within a few hours of Birmingham, Atlanta, and Nashville, the city combines natural beauty with historic downtown dining and cultural attractions.
