ABSMC-Alta Bates Summit Med Center Position Overview:
Provides leadership for the strategic direction and operations of the medical staff and continuing medical education programs. Responsible for the efficient functioning of department operations which contribute to the mission and goals of the facility. Accountable for meeting the requirements established by the Medical Staff Bylaws and other federal, state and local regulatory and/or accrediting agencies. Develops and fosters a solid partnership with leaders, work teams and other employees to facilitate and collaborate on initiatives, to resolve operational challenges and to improve processes. Works with senior leadership to develop and establish short and long-term strategic plans that complement system, operating unit or affiliate goals and initiatives, including business, operations, and/or organizational priorities.Job Description :
EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.Bachelor's:
Business Administration, Healthcare, or related field, or equivalent education/experiencePREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN
12 years' experience in hospital management, medical staff, and physician education. 12 years' experience in budgeting and fiscal management.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Familiarity with internal and external requirements relating to medical staff. Knowledge of medical staff accreditation standards, federal and state regulations governing credentialing and peer review. Solid understanding of operations and workflows, and how the department's process/workflow impacts other department operations. Demonstrates credible leadership presence, with the ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness, and authority; and the ability to motivate and engage others. Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey concepts and communicate information or issues in a manner that is readily understood by management and employees. Ability to build and establish effective working partnerships with employees, peers, and leaders to achieve business objectives.Job Shift:

Pay Range is $148,574.40 to $222,872.00 / annual salary The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
