- The SLAC IT Business Systems Manager provides operational and technical leadership for
SLAC ERP
systems. This role is accountable for service quality, incident and request fulfillment performance, staff capability, and continual service improvement. The Manager serves as the senior escalation point for complex incidents and problems, ensuring stable operations, effective problem resolution, and a high-quality customer experience across all ERP services.- Leadership & People Management
- + Lead, mentor, and develop a team of ERP analysts, developers, architects, and technical specialists.
- ERP Strategy & Governance
- + Develop and execute the technical roadmap for ERP platforms and related enterprise applications.
- Technical Management
- + Oversee ERP system architecture, integrations, customizations, and upgrades. + Direct the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of ERP solutions. + Ensure application reliability, scalability, performance, and security. + Manage technical debt and implement modernization initiatives. + Review and approve technical designs and architectural decisions.
- Project & Program Management
- + Lead complex ERP implementation, enhancement, and migration projects. + Manage project scope, budget, schedule, risks, and stakeholder communications. + Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, and consultants to deliver project outcomes. + Ensure successful adoption of new ERP capabilities through planning, training, and change management.
- Operational Excellence
- + Establish service level objectives (SLOs) and monitor system performance and availability. + Oversee incident management, problem resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement. + Drive process automation and operational efficiencies across ERP functions. + Ensure timely resolution of production issues and escalations.
- Risk, Security & Compliance
- + Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards. + Partner with cybersecurity teams to maintain secure ERP environments. + Implement controls related to data integrity, access management, and business continuity. + Support audits and remediation of identified findings.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- + Serve as the primary technical liaison between IT leadership and business stakeholders. + Translate business requirements into technical solutions and implementation strategies. + Present project status, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership. + Build strong partnerships across HR, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and other ERP-supported functions.
- Executive-Level Responsibility
- + •Provides strategic and operational leadership for ERP technologies, ensuring the delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable enterprise solutions while maintaining accountability for team performance, project execution, service quality, and business outcomes.

- + Provide strategic direction for SLAC Business systems portfolio in partnership with the labs leadership.
Documentation:
- Oversee the Creation and updating of Knowledge Base articles and procedural documentation.
