  • San Rafael, CA A veterinary practice is seeking a Medical Director Veterinarian to lead its clinical team while continuing to provide exceptional patient care.
This leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced veterinarian who is passionate about medical excellence, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative, patient-centered culture. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality medical, surgical, and preventive veterinary care. Lead and uphold medical standards, protocols, and best practices across the practice. Mentor, coach, and support veterinarians and clinical team members to promote professional growth and clinical excellence. Foster a collaborative, respectful, and positive team culture. Partner with practice leadership to support hospital operations, workflow efficiency, and quality improvement initiatives. Review medical records and clinical outcomes to ensure consistent standards of care. Maintain compliance with applicable veterinary regulations, licensing requirements, and medical protocols. Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and developing veterinary professionals. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure exceptional client communication. Contribute to the overall growth and success of the practice through clinical leadership and continuous improvement. Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution. Active or eligible veterinary license in the state of practice. Several years of clinical veterinary experience. Previous leadership or mentorship experience preferred. Strong clinical judgment and medical decision-making skills. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities. Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and collaborative teamwork.
