Job Description

Lead a hospital where experienced support staff, surgical autonomy, and long-term community trust still matter.
Job Description:
Small animal hospital in the Yucaipa area hiring a Medical Director for a multi-doctor general practice. This privately owned hospital has served the local community for more than two decades under stable ownership and continues to maintain a loyal client base with strong word-of-mouth reputation. The practice operates with a straightforward, practical style focused on good medicine, consistent standards, and long-term relationships with both clients and staff. The hospital is equipped for a wide range of medical and surgical cases including orthopedic and soft tissue procedures. Facilities include digital radiography, dental X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, in-house laboratory equipment, and dedicated surgical space. Appointment flow is steady without being rushed, and the doctors are supported by highly experienced technicians and assistants who know the clients, workflows, and standards well. The current veterinary team includes a mix of experienced leadership and newer-generation clinicians with interests in surgery and radiology. The culture is intentionally low on micromanagement. Doctors are trusted to practice independently while still having collaborative support when needed. Several team members have been with the hospital for over a decade, which speaks to the stability of the environment. This role would suit a veterinarian who enjoys leading by example, values consistency over corporate structure, and wants to help shape the next stage of growth within a well-established hospital.
