MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for more than 2 clinical departments or programs with greater than 150 FTE's including Nurse Managers and Assistant Nurse Managers Responsible for Organizational and or Nursing strategic plan development and execution - Responsible for developing, monitoring, and adherence to annual operations and capital budgets for multiple units or - departments Oversight and or Management of interdisciplinary projects and initiatives to meet strategic initiatives and goals Responsible for organizational clinical education and professional development across a number of disciplines and manages all clinical affiliations for Nursing Responsible for Patient experience, quality, regulatory and safety oversight over multiple departments
COMPETENCIES AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Resolve & Manage conflict (Behavioral Indicators) Relationship Management Build trusting, collaborative relationships Collaborates with clinical and nonclinical administrative leadership to develop strategic & operational plans for assigned clinical service lines/departments Shared Governance Support shared governance by providing an environment conducive to opinion sharing. Knowledge of the Health Care Environment Clinical Practice Knowledge Maintain knowledge of current nursing practice in area of specialty & the roles & functions of patient care team members Ensure that written organization clinical policies & procedures are reviewed & updated in accordance with evidence based practice. Evidence based Practice Utilize research/EBP findings for the establishments of standards, practices, and patient care models of the organization Facilitate & or Participate in studies that provide outcome measures Quality & Safety Identify, develop, monitor patient care quality improvement goals & objectives Regulatory & Risk Management Knowledge of federal & state laws and regulations that impact the provision of patient care Knowledge of patient care standards as published by the Joint Commission, CMS, and professional Nursing literature Understand, articulate and ensure compliance with the State Nurse Practice Act, State Board of Nursing regulations, regulatory agency standards and the policies of the Organization Monitor clinical activities to identify both expected and unexpected risks Leadership Professional Development Membership & Participation in Professional organizations Participate and encourage continued professional education Succession Planning Evaluate organizational assessments to identify succession planning opportunities and establish action plans Serve as a role model & mentor to future nursing leaders Culture & Values Hold self and others accountable for actions and outcomes outlined in our values and culture of Patient centered care Integrate high ethical standards and core values into every day work activity Business Skills Financial Management Develop, implement, and monitor operational and capital budgets Assist in the development of business plans Operations Management Develop, monitor and are accountable for assigned nursing budgets Maintain current knowledge of patient care delivery systems and innovations Human Resource Management Interpret and evaluate employee/nursing engagement/quality work surveys Manage performance through reward and recognition, counseling, and disciplinary action Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies Strategic Management Participate in and monitoring of the Organizational and Nursing Strategic plan Conduct SWOT and GAP analyses as needed Formulate objectives, goals, and specific strategies related to mission and vision
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

LICENSE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION
): Registered Nurse with a Masters degree in Nursing or Healthcare administration Minimum of 8 years of progressive nursing leadership experience CT RN License - ANCC acknowledged Nurse executive certification - preferred
