Job Description:
Acts as a liaison with other hospital departments and community agencies. Ensures that all State Regulations are met and maintained for radiation safety. Intervenes as needed with physicians, patients and nursing floors to resolve conflicts or expedite patient care. Participates in strategic budget planning meetings and develops a plan to work with other Directors (Marketing and Finance) in order to increase volumes and revenues. Maintains medical records with respect to patient confidentiality, security, and completeness. Develops and implements quality assurance and performance indicators, reporting them timely. Ensures compliance with accrediting agencies such as TJC, MQSA, FDA, and ACR. Serves as a resource for practice improvement opportunities and implementation. Participates in recruitment, orientation, evaluation, and termination of personnel, including salary evaluations and market adjustments. Reviews and updates department policy and procedure manuals annually. Utilizes progressive counseling for employee development or discipline. Schedules personnel to ensure adequate coverage during all hours of operation. Maintains accurate time and attendance records and reports them timely. Monitors and documents patient care, including order completion, education, and follow-up. Provides a safe environment for patient care and promptly corrects deficiencies. Directs all Imaging Services in a cost-effective, efficient manner ensuring high-quality care. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient in computer applications with advanced knowledge and experience in Word and Excel. [Required] Computer skills for use of hospital computer system as well as preparing documentation and statistics. [Required] Excellent communication skills, both written and oral required. [Required] Proven operational management skills required. [Required] Patient care and communication skills to deal with patients from infant through geriatric age groups. [Required] Knowledge of State Department of Radiation Control regulations. [Required] Knowledge of employment policies and regulations required. [Required] Radiology regulatory compliance with Federal, State and accrediting agencies. [Required] Be able to make independent judgments as needed. [Preferred] Mature judgment is needed at all times to resolve immediate or urgent problems and deal with multiple priorities. [Preferred] Must be familiar with and apply policies and procedures and make decisions where policies are not available. [Preferred] Interpretation and development of policy is necessary. [Preferred]
Education:
Bachelor's [Required] Master's [Preferred]
Field of Study:
Bachelors in Allied Health or Radiologic Science Masters in Business Administration or Health Care Administration (MBA or MHA)
Work Experience:
5+ years of leadership experience [Required] 7+ years of experience [Required] Director of Radiology Experience [Preferred]

Pay Range:
