Lee Health is a nonprofit organization with more than 17,000 employees, 4,500 volunteers, and more than 1,250 employed primary care and specialty care providers with multiple practice locations throughout Southwest Florida. The organization has four acute care hospitals and one specialty hospital that together house over 1,800 hospital beds. As a physician-led organization, Lee Health takes an active role in clinician wellness and engagement. Lee Health's primary care division is robust with multiple locations and access points to serve the community. Position Information:
This Medical Director role offers an opportunity to lead large-scale, value-based primary care initiatives within one of Florida's most respected non-profit health systems. The position blends meaningful clinical practice (30%) with strategic, operational, and people leadership (70%), influencing care delivery across 22 clinics and more than 160 providers serving Southwest Florida. The ideal candidate is a dynamic physician-leader who thrives at the intersection of clinical excellence, system redesign, and physician engagement, and who wants to leave a lasting impact on community health. Scope & Influence Oversight of 22 primary care clinics with diverse practice models (Family Medicine & Internal Medicine) Leadership of 160+ physicians and APPs Direct partnership with two Regional Medical Directors Central driver of value-based care, access expansion, quality performance, and provider engagement Key collaborator with specialty services, and system leadershipBenefit Highlights:
