Typically board-certified in emergency medicine or pediatric emergency medicine. Generally responsible for either the creation of protocols for treatment by prehospital providers or providing leadership to the group of physicians who assist with the provision of medical oversight depending on which model of service delivery and which model of medical control are operating.

Job Description

Locum tenens Emergency Medicine physician position in Hudson, FL. Provide emergency care across acute presentations in the ED with flexible scheduling.
Key responsibilities:
Perform rapid triage, history and physical exams, and diagnostic interpretation. Stabilize and treat acute medical, traumatic, and pediatric emergencies. Order and interpret labs and imaging; develop and implement treatment plans. Perform minor procedures (suturing, laceration repair, wound care, joint reductions) and airway management as needed. Prescribe medications, manage resuscitations, and coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers. Document encounters accurately and communicate with consulting services and ancillary staff.
Required qualifications:
ABEM or AOBEM board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine. Active Florida medical license. Current ACLS and PALS certifications. Prior ED experience preferred; locum tenens experience a plus.
Location:
Hudson, FL — coastal community in Pasco County on the Gulf of Mexico, ~45 minutes north of Tampa. Small-town atmosphere with waterfront access and outdoor recreation.
