• Treat every patient with respect and compassion; Position Purpose The Medical Director provides clinical leadership, strategic vision, and oversight for all medical policies and programs at the clinic.

This role ensures clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and the cultivation of strong professional relationships with our volunteer physician network.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities Clinical Leadership & Governance Compliance:

Ensure all clinical procedures and protocols align with Florida state laws and federal healthcare regulations.

Quality Assurance:

Serve as a key member of the Quality Assurance Committee; and participate in weekly clinical staff meetings to drive continuous improvement.

Strategic Growth:

Partner with leadership to develop new patient services and serve as a "Champion of Change" for organizational sustainability.

Drug Formulary:

Oversees the medications on hand in the VIMJAX dispensary.

Clinical Operations & Oversight Provider Support:

Monitor clinical providers and serve as the primary clinical resource/consultant for APRNs and medical staff. Be available by phone to assist the Clinical Director, if needed.

Labs, Imaging & Referrals:

Reviews laboratory results, imaging, and referrals. Provides timely recommendations for follow-up and personally addresses critical values (including after-hour calls from the lab).

Medication Management:

Manage prescription refill requests in coordination with the Clinical Director; provide phone/text consultation for urgent patient issues.

Administrative Approvals:

Execute necessary signatures for Patient Assistance Programs (PAP) and external specialist referrals.

Community & Volunteer Engagement Recruitment:

Participates in recruitment, orientation, and retention of volunteer physicians.

Education:

Proctor and mentor Internal Medicine or Family Practice residents during their clinical rotations at VIMJAX.

Ambassadorship:

Represent VIMJAX at donor events like "Women with Heart", in media interviews and other community-facing activities.

Qualifications Education:

Graduate of an accredited medical school (MD or DO).

Experience:

At least 5-10 years of clinical practice.

Licensure:

Valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Florida.

Credentials:

Current DEA registration.

Communication:

Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse volunteer populations. Work Requirements Deep familiarity with standard medical concepts, practices, and ethical procedures. Ability to balance administrative strategy with hands-on clinical problem-solving.

Pay:

$80,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
