A respected nonprofit 700+ bed health system is seeking an experienced Director of Medical Staff Services to lead one of the organization's most important physician-facing functions. This position offers the rare combination of an established team, a planned leadership transition and the opportunity to influence medical staff governance across an entire health system. Position Overview The Director will provide leadership for: Approximately 700 medical staff members Medical Staff Services across two hospital campuses A five-person team, including a Medical Staff Services Manager MEC coordination and medical staff committee activities Credentialing, privileging and regulatory compliance Physician relations and complex governance matters Completion of a major medical staff bylaws revision What Makes This Role Different? The Director will not be confined to an office managing credentialing files. This leader will work directly with the Vice President of Medical Affairs, senior executives, physician leaders and legal counsel. The health system is also expanding its role in physician education through new residency and fellowship programs, creating additional visibility and long-term opportunity for Medical Staff Services. Ideal Candidate Profile Proven Medical Staff Services leadership in a large hospital or health system Expertise in MEC processes, governance, bylaws, credentialing and privileging Polished communication style and confidence with strong physician personalities CPMSM or CPCS strongly preferred Bachelor's degree, MD-Staff experience and advanced Excel skills preferred Compensation and Benefits Up to $160,000 base salary (DOE), with flexibility for the right candidate Executive-level benefits package Transition support from the current Director For confidential consideration, please submit your resume via the link.
