Job Description

Position Overview The client is seeking an experienced Medical Director (Psychiatrist) to provide clinical oversight and medical leadership. Under the administrative direction of the client Business Administrator or designee, the Medical Director will oversee medical services, provide consultation for student admissions and treatment, ensure medical coverage, and remain available for on-call consultation. Key Responsibilities Serve as Medical Director for the client. Provide medical leadership and oversight for student healthcare services. Be onsite 5 hours per month. Provide approximately 21 hours of services per month. Be available Monday through Friday for consultations. Provide 24-hour on-call medical coverage for students. Provide telephone consultation to the client medical staff and hospital medical staff. Review admission medical records and provide medical recommendations. Maintain confidentiality of student medical records. Comply with HIPAA and all applicable State and Federal healthcare regulations. Follow infection control policies and center procedures. Submit weekly invoices for services performed. Maintain professional standards consistent with accreditation agencies and OSHA requirements. Required Qualifications (MANDATORY) Current IL Physician License to practice medicine. American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Certification in Psychiatry, or equivalent. Minimum three (3) years of substantive medical administrative experience directing, planning, and evaluating a medical/clinical program. Experience supervising and coordinating multidisciplinary professional staff. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across professional disciplines.

IL license verification Verification of required experience Employment verification Background investigation Controlled substance registration verification AMA/AOA profile review OIG Medicare/Medicaid sanctions review Preferred Qualifications Previous experience serving as a Medical Director in a rehabilitation center, behavioral health facility, hospital, or similar healthcare setting. Experience providing psychiatric consultation services. Experience working with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Experience with healthcare accreditation standards and regulatory compliance. Executive-level medical leadership experience. Tools & Skills Psychiatry and behavioral health expertise. Medical program administration. Clinical consultation and medical decision-making. Healthcare compliance and regulatory knowledge. HIPAA compliance. Medical documentation and record review. Leadership and supervision. Knowledge of OSHA and infection control practices. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Soft Skills Strong leadership and supervisory abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Professional judgment and executive presence. High degree of confidentiality and integrity. Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
Notes:
Onsite Work Schedule Approximately 21 hours per month. 5 hours per month. Available Monday through Friday. 24/7 on-call availability for students.
