An Emergency Medical Director within emergency medical services is a physician who provides guidance, leadership, oversight and continuous quality improvement (CQI) for the practice of local EMTs and paramedics within a predefined area. Typically board-certified in emergency medicine or pediatric emergency medicine. Generally responsible for either the creation of protocols for treatment by prehospital providers or providing leadership to the group of physicians who assist with the provision of medical oversight depending on which model of service delivery and which model of medical control are operating.

This hybrid emergency room and urgent care provides both types of care to patients conveniently under one roof. Patients will receive the appropriate level of care in a simple, cost effective one-stop location. The emergency room will provide care on a 24/7 basis with transport services available to handle high-acuity emergency situations needing surgery. Nurses at this location will have a background or training in emergency care. On-site imaging and laboratory services are also available.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an AMA approved Radiology Technology Program. Indiana Radiation Machine Operator's License. A.R.R.T. Certificate in General Radiology. CT Certified. BLS for Healthcare Provider required. 5-10 years clinical hospital working experience preferred. Documented competency in the departments or in areas of specialty supervised.
