An Emergency Medical Director within emergency medical services is a physician who provides guidance, leadership, oversight and continuous quality improvement (CQI) for the practice of local EMTs and paramedics within a predefined area. Typically board-certified in emergency medicine or pediatric emergency medicine. Generally responsible for either the creation of protocols for treatment by prehospital providers or providing leadership to the group of physicians who assist with the provision of medical oversight depending on which model of service delivery and which model of medical control are operating.

Seeking Emergency Medicine NPPA for Opelousas, LA Looking for a FT, PT, or PRN Emergency Medicine NPPA for Opelousas General Health System for the Main and South Campuses.
Seeking EM Physicians:
Full Time, Part Time & PRN!
Facility Annual ED volume:
25,000 BC/BE Emergency, Internal Medicine and Family Medicine with ER experience welcome 19 ED Beds (2 Trauma and 3 Fast Track) Physician coverage: 24 hours per day APP coverage: 12 hours per day

Cerner Supportive nursing and administrative staff The Main Campus, six story facility, is located in St. Landry Parish which boasts a population of 91,528. Community Opelousas is one of the oldest cities in Louisiana. Opelousas was founded in 1720 and populated by travelers, traders, Native Americans, Creoles, and those of French and Spanish descent. At one time was the capital of Louisiana. This city has array of museums and restaurants, so visitors are sure to find something special here. Opelousas is known as the Zydeco Capital of the world. Live Zydeco music is abundant here and many of the musicians live in St. Landry Parish. Opelousas sits in the center of two major highways, US 190 and Interstate I-49 and has been serving the community for 65 years.
