A Medical Director directs and manages a medical practice, clinic, lab or public health program. Organizes and manages of staff physicians, policy implementation, and ensures that standards for medical care are communicated and maintained.
SPAARK, Inc. is seeking a Credentialed Medical Provider to support the Louisiana Army National Guard State Surgeon's Office. The provider will review Service Member medical documentation, conduct medical-readiness assessments, and make recommendations regarding fitness for duty, retainability, deployability, medical profiles, and further evaluation under applicable Army regulations. Responsibilities Review Service Member medical records and supporting documentation. Make recommendations regarding fitness for duty, deployability, and military retention in accordance with AR 40-501 and
AR 40-502.
Identify cases requiring additional action through the MAR2, MEB, NDR-PEB, or IDES processes. Draft Line of Duty recommendations for State Surgeon review. Conduct initial and follow-up interviews with Service Members regarding their medical status. Document medical interviews, recommendations, and interactions in the appropriate medical record. Create temporary profiles and initiate permanent profiles based on documentation from civilian providers or military treatment facilities. Route profiles for required secondary signatures. Review, document, and digitally sign medical health assessments. Conduct physical health assessments during Tier 3 and scheduled medical-readiness events. Educate Service Members regarding medical-readiness responsibilities and available medical and dental resources. Review cases that may have been incorrectly identified as not fit for duty. Assist with medical or administrative separation documentation for Service Members who no longer meet fitness-for-duty requirements. Identify behavioral-health cases requiring referral to the Director of Psychological Health. Collaborate with nurse case managers to review referrals, laboratory results, medical documentation, profiles, and follow-up requirements. Provide medical guidance regarding Soldier cases from condition identification through return to duty, disability evaluation, or administrative separation. Support review of permanent PULHES 3 and 4 profiles and related IDES referrals. Maintain accurate Service Member records in accordance with
AR 40-66.
Use MEDCHART, MODS, MEDPROS, and other authorized military medical systems. Protect medical information in accordance with HIPAA, the Privacy Act, DoD requirements, and Army policies Required Qualifications Licensed and certified as one of the following:
Physician Assistant:
Current Louisiana licensure through the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and current NCCPA certification.
Nurse Practitioner:
Current, unrestricted Louisiana advanced-practice nursing license through the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Experience reviewing medical documentation and making clinical or medical-readiness recommendations. Knowledge of medical terminology, health assessments, clinical documentation, and patient interviewing. Ability to evaluate functional limitations and determine when additional medical review or documentation is required. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting the Army, Army National Guard, Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, or another federal healthcare program. Familiarity with
AR 40-501, AR
40-502, and
AR 40-66.
Experience with military medical profiles, fitness-for-duty reviews, MEB, PEB, IDES, MAR2, or Line of Duty actions. Experience with MEDCHART, MEDPROS, MODS, or similar military medical-readiness systems. Experience supporting medical-readiness or Soldier Readiness Processing events. Knowledge of military retainability and deployment standards.
