Shift:

Standard day shift Job Description. Provide routine, urgent, and emergency medical care to the incarcerated/detainee population. Conduct scheduled sick calls and evaluate patients requiring medical attention. Perform physical examinations for newly admitted incarcerated/detainees as required. Diagnose medical conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans. Prescribe and manage medications within the scope of practice. Provide clinical direction for medical services and approve applicable medical protocols and standing orders. Evaluate and manage complex medical conditions and determine when specialty or hospital services are required. Coordinate referrals, hospitalizations, specialty care, and follow-up treatment. Participate in emergency medical response and provide clinical oversight of emergency care. Maintain complete and accurate medical records and required clinical documentation. Collaborate with the HSA, nursing staff, mental health providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. Perform duties in accordance with Maryland requirements, applicable

NCCHC/MCCS

standards, SMCDRC policies, and applicable laws.
