Generally responsible for either the creation of protocols for treatment by prehospital providers or providing leadership to the group of physicians who assist with the provision of medical oversight depending on which model of service delivery and which model of medical control are operating.

The ED Advanced Paramedic will identify and initiate appropriate triage order sets following the triage assessment. The ED Advanced Paramedic will evaluate and assign an appropriate Emergency Severity Index score to patients following the triage assessment. The ED Advanced Paramedic will be responsible for communication of all pertinent patient information to their team members and emergency department providers. The ED Advanced Paramedic will help maintain patient flow from the triage area to the emergency department. Job Responsibilities Performing and documenting triage assessment for emergency department patients Providing appropriate care to emergency department patients within their scope of practice and the "Generic List of Patient Care Responsibilities" policy. Identify and initiate appropriate triage order sets Evaluate and assign Emergency Severity Index Score to ED triage patients Communicate appropriate and pertinent information to ED team members and ED providers. Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned.
