Job Description

Team Lead for Mobile Crisis Emergency Response Hinds Behavioral Health Services The Mobile Crisis Emergency Response Team (MCERT) Lead provides clinical, operational, and field-based leadership for the agency's Mobile Crisis Emergency Response Team. The MCERT Lead is responsible for ensuring that mobile crisis services are delivered safely, rapidly, effectively, ethically, and in accordance with Mississippi Department of Mental Health (DMH) requirements, applicable state and federal regulations, organizational policies, and recognized national behavioral health crisis-care standards. The MCERT Lead functions as a senior crisis-response professional and provides direct oversight of mobile crisis operations, including triage, deployment, field response, crisis assessment, de-escalation, safety planning, disposition, care coordination, documentation, staff supervision, training, quality assurance, and collaboration with 988, law enforcement, emergency medical services, emergency departments, crisis stabilization units, courts, schools, hospitals, community providers, and other community partners. The MCERT Lead is expected to promote a health-first, person-centered, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, recovery-oriented, and least-restrictive approach possible to behavioral health crisis response. The position supports the goal of providing an appropriate behavioral health response to individuals experiencing mental health, substance use, intellectual/developmental disability, emotional, behavioral, or co-occurring crises while reducing unnecessary emergency department utilization, hospitalization, and law-enforcement involvement whenever clinically and legally appropriate. Reports to the Director of Adult Services. Essential Functions Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards of Hinds Behavioral Health Services (HBHS). Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Provides leadership for Mobile Crisis Response Team Staff. Ensures day to day operation of services to meet consumer needs in compliance with all accreditation and funder regulatory guidelines. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department. Plans, organizes, directs and coordinates all aspects of care and related services as needed for consumers. Provides ongoing coaching that focuses on accountability to the recovery-oriented philosophy of care.. Performs follow-up calls and/or home visits with consumers to monitor quality of care Responsible for staff development of Mobile Crisis Response Staff. Maintains departmental reports and records and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes. Works collaboratively with agency and community stakeholders. Problems solves at a system level. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops. Monitors program, staff, and individual productivity and provides supervision to meet program outcomes. Ensures that the educational needs of staff are identified and met. Supports and interprets mission, philosophy and objective of HBHS.
