An Emergency Medical Director within emergency medical services is a physician who provides guidance, leadership, oversight and continuous quality improvement (CQI) for the practice of local EMTs and paramedics within a predefined area. Typically board-certified in emergency medicine or pediatric emergency medicine. Generally responsible for either the creation of protocols for treatment by prehospital providers or providing leadership to the group of physicians who assist with the provision of medical oversight depending on which model of service delivery and which model of medical control are operating.

GED Full Job Description Overview:
The Team Leader, ED Patient Registration Rep will enjoy interacting with patients and registering them for their care. The Team Leader, ED Patient Registration Rep will accurately perform administrative duties required for patient registration and have significant working knowledge of insurance and associated standard work processes. The Team Leader, ED Patient Registration Rep will also serve as a mentor for registration representative peers and assist with training new employees. As a liaison to patients, the community, and healthcare professionals, this position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills to ensure delivery of the highest quality customer service. The emergency department registration work environment is high-volume, fast-paced and requires the ability to greet patients and families upon arrival and provide unsurpassed customer service to patients presenting to the emergency department with medical emergencies, including cardiac complaints, stroke symptoms, traumas, and other emergencies. In the emergency department, registration is initiated at the welcome desk in the lobby and is completed in the patient's room after the patient has seen a care provider. Emergency department registration staff also work closely with the clinical staff to help patients receive care as efficiently as possible.
