Job Description

Sampson Regional Medical Center is seeking a Director for the Emergency Department to join our team.
Description:
Sampson Regional Medical Center is located in Clinton NC and has served its community since 1950. The hospital is DNV accredited and offers a range of medical services. The system provides valuable emergency services and provides outpatient services such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and diagnostic imaging. The selected candidate will report to the Chief Nursing Officer and will be responsible for directing and leading the Emergency Department.
Responsibilities include:
Developing and building relationships with employees, leadership team and Physicians. Ensuring all Emergency Department employees have appropriate skills and competencies for patient assignments. Ensuring regulatory compliance with local, state federal and DNV regulations. Fiscal oversight of the department to include but not limited to budget development and performance, expenses, revenue, contribution margin and productivity reports. Leading emergency department process improvements and participates in Organizational process improvement projects. Leading Press Ganey initiatives. Maintaining and developing relationships with community agencies including Advisory Committees, EMS, and Mental Health. Managing hospital ambulance services. Performs management activities including interviewing, hiring, evaluation and terminations. PolicyProcedure Development and Implementation. Responsible for staffing and scheduling of the staff and the staffing, scheduling and patient care assignment practices are consistent with the regulatory and NCBON requirements and professional organization recommendations.
Requirements:
BSN or MSN degree. CEN certification a plus. ACHE a plus At least two years of leadership experience. At least five years of hospital emergency experience. Knowledge of nursing medical practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to hospital and Emergency Department operations. Evidence of preparing and monitoring annual budgets.
Computer experience to include:
Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Meditech.
Hours:
Full-time Exempt level position. Additional hours may be required to meet the needs of the patients and department.
