We are seeking a Board-Certified Associate Medical Director to provide clinical leadership while helping shape the future of a growing, multidisciplinary treatment program. Position Summary The Associate Medical Director partners closely with the Medical Director to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care. This role combines clinical leadership with direct patient care, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients recovering from substance use disorders. Responsibilities Partner with the Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and physician oversight. Provide outpatient medical care for assigned patients. Conduct and oversee medical evaluations, histories, physical examinations, and detoxification services. Collaborate with nursing, medical, and behavioral health teams to ensure coordinated patient care. Participate in an every-other-week on-call rotation. Lead and participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary treatment meetings. Provide education to patients, families, staff, and community partners. Ensure compliance with CARF standards, regulatory requirements, and clinical best practices. Qualifications MD or DO with an active or eligible medical license in North Carolina and South Carolina. Board Certified in Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry, or ASAM Certified. Significant experience treating patients with substance use disorders. Experience managing medical detoxification, co-occurring disorders, and recovery-oriented treatment programs. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Passion for delivering compassionate, ethical, patient-centered care.
