Full-Time or Part-Time (Flexible Schedule Available) Position Overview We are seeking a Medical Director / Attending Physician to provide clinical leadership and direct patient care within the post-acute and long-term care setting. This role combines hands-on patient management with facility-level oversight to drive quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Key Responsibilities Clinical Care (Attending Physician Role): Provide comprehensive primary care services to residents in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities Conduct initial, follow-up, and acute visits in accordance with CMS guidelines Manage chronic conditions, transitions of care, and end-of-life planning Coordinate care with nursing staff, specialists, and families Ensure timely and accurate documentation in theEMR Medical Director Responsibilities:
Provide clinical oversight and leadership within assigned facilities Partner with facility administration to improve quality metrics (e.g., rehospitalizations, falls, infections) Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs Assist with regulatory compliance and survey readiness Develop and implement clinical protocols and best practices Support staff education and clinical training initiatives Qualifications MD or DO degree from an accredited institution Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatrics Active North Carolina medical license Active NC DEA License Experience in post-acute, skilled nursing, or long-term care preferred Strong leadership, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation (base + productivity incentives) Medical Directorship monthly stipends for each location you serve Flexible scheduling and autonomy Malpractice insurance coverage EHR Support Administrative and clinical support staff Opportunity for leadership growth and medical directorship expansion Why Join Post Acute NC?
