The Opportunity NHCAC is seeking an experienced Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to provide clinical and executive leadership across our 10 health center locations. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, in-person executive leadership position. The CMO is expected to maintain a visible and engaged presence across NHCAC's health centers and clinical operations. This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished physician (MD) executive to join a large, multi-site community health organization and play a critical role in advancing clinical excellence, quality improvement, patient safety, provider development, and patient-centered care throughout NHCAC. Reporting to the President/CEO, the CMO serves as the organization's senior clinical leader and a key member of the executive leadership team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical leadership, department directors, and administrative leadership to ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and service. The CMO will serve as a primary liaison between administration and the medical staff and will provide leadership in clinical operations, provider performance, provider recruitment, quality improvement, regulatory compliance including compliance with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration's Health Center Program, credentialing and privileging, risk management, patient safety, and clinical program development. The CMO will also work closely with NHCAC's existing partnered residency programs, serving as a key physician liaison and clinical leader in supporting the success and growth of these relationships. The CMO will actively seek opportunities to develop and strengthen additional residency program partnerships, helping to expand NHCAC's role as a training site for future physicians and strengthen the organization's recruitment and provider development pipeline. While the CMO's primary responsibility is executive and clinical leadership, this is a hands-on leadership role. The CMO should be prepared to maintain a meaningful clinical presence within NHCAC and, as organizational needs require, actively participate in patient care and see patients from time to time. This may include providing direct clinical coverage, supporting providers during periods of increased demand, or engaging in clinical activities that promote visibility, collaboration, and connection with NHCAC's patients and care teams. The ideal candidate will be a visible, accessible, articulate and engaged physician leader who is comfortable balancing executive responsibilities with clinical practice and who understands the unique opportunities and challenges of delivering care in a Federally Qualified Health Center environment. What We Are Looking For The successful candidate will be an accomplished physician leader with a strong clinical background, demonstrated administrative leadership experience, and a genuine commitment to community health. • Active, unrestricted MD degree and an active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of New Jersey.
• Board certified in an appropriate medical specialty at the time of hire and able to maintain board certification.
• Graduate of an accredited residency program in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and/or OB/GYN.
• Minimum of 7 years of successful clinical practice experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of successful senior-level or director-level healthcare management and clinical operational experience in an ambulatory care setting
• Eligible for hospital privileges.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain applicable federal and state narcotic registrations.
• Experience working in a multi-provider medical practice or health system.
• Strong community health/public health orientation.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in patient care management and managed healthcare.
• Experience with electronic health records and/or practice management systems.
• Strong understanding of data, report development and the use of metrics to improve performance
• Successful completion of NHCAC credentialing and privileging requirements. Ability to represent NHCAC on a state and national level
• Demonstrated experience in making presentations to a non-profit

Compensation/Benefits:

Annual Salary:

$265,000 - $300,000, based on credentials and experience.

Paid Time Off:

Earned on an annual basis. Continuing Medical Education (CME):

• Paid time off for continuing medical education.
• Reimbursement for eligible continuing medical education expenses.

Company-Paid Holidays:

12 paid holidays annually.
