$375,000-$475,000 annually, based on role responsibilities and experience About the Opportunity Cogent Infotech is recruiting an experienced Emergency Medicine physician for a Site Medical Director position in Newburgh, New York. This opportunity combines clinical Emergency Medicine with departmental leadership and operational responsibilities . The Site Medical Director will work closely with physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), nursing leadership, hospital administration, and system leadership to support Emergency Department operations and clinical performance. The position includes a reduced clinical schedule of approximately 48-72 hours per month , allowing dedicated time for leadership, physician engagement, operational planning, quality initiatives, and process improvement. Emergency Department Overview Approximately 55,000 annual patient visits Approximately 15-20% pediatric volume 23 Emergency Department beds 8 Fast Track beds Level III Trauma Center Approximately 53 hours of physician coverage Approximately 37 hours of APP coverage Approximately 13 full-time physicians Approximately 9 full-time APPs

Teaching opportunities through Internal Medicine residency rotations New Emergency Department construction/build underway Key Responsibilities Provide clinical and operational leadership for the Emergency Department. Partner with hospital and system leadership on departmental initiatives. Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing leadership, and hospital administration. Support physician recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention. Help develop and maintain effective Emergency Medicine team operations. Monitor departmental quality, safety, clinical, and operational metrics. Support improvements in patient flow, throughput, and department efficiency. Participate in strategic planning and operational improvement initiatives. Support staffing and workflow improvements. Help coordinate Emergency Medicine and nursing workflows. Support physician and APP professional development. Participate in initiatives focused on clinical quality and patient experience. Maintain approximately 48-72 clinical hours per month. Qualifications Medical degree (MD or DO). Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine, as applicable. Active medical licensure appropriate for practice in New York. Emergency Medicine clinical experience. Previous physician leadership or departmental leadership experience preferred. Experience with Emergency Department operations and performance improvement preferred. Experience working with physicians, APPs, nursing teams, and hospital leadership. Experience in a high-volume Emergency Department preferred. Trauma center experience is a plus. Experience with patient flow, throughput, capacity management, or quality improvement is a plus. EPIC experience preferred. Teaching or residency-program experience is a plus.
