This is a fully remote position. The Medical Director is responsible for providing overall medical leadership for the hospice program and works collaboratively with the Administrator, Director of Patient Care Services, interdisciplinary team, attending physicians, patients, and families to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compassionate hospice care. The Medical Director is responsible for certifying and recertifying patient eligibility for hospice services, participating in the development and oversight of individualized plans of care, providing consultation regarding pain and symptom management, and serving as a clinical resource for the hospice team. The Medical Director participates in interdisciplinary group meetings, supports quality assurance and performance improvement activities, and helps ensure compliance with all federal, state, and hospice regulatory requirements. Must be able to utilize computers and be comfortable with electronic medical records. Must possess excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. The Medical Director serves as a role model to staff and supports the organization's mission, goals, objectives, and policies.
