Job Description

Job Summary:
In the absence of the Medical Director, the Medical Director Designee will become the acting Medical Director and will be vested with authority to act in behalf of the Medical Director.
Essential Job Fuctions/Responsibilities:
Adhering to requirements, terms, and conditions required by Medicare Conditions of Participation, accrediting body, and federal and state statutes governing the provision of services. Establishing and continually reviewing policies and procedures related to patient care, medical education and emergency procedures. Developing and continually reviewing, in cooperation with the Administrator and/or Director of Patient Care Services, criteria to monitor the quality of the education programs provided to physicians, personnel, and volunteers Reviewing patients' medical eligibility for hospice services, in accordance with hospice program policies and procedures, and establishing the plan of care in conjunctions with attending physician and interdiscplinary group prior to providing care written certification of terminal illness. Managing oversight of the patient's medication and treatments Acting as medical resources to the hospice interdisciplinary group The above statements are intended to be a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. Position Qualifications:
Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in the statewithour restriction or subject to any discplinary or corrective action. Minimum two years of full-time supervisory or managerial experience in a hospice, home health, or providing palliative care to patients within the last five years. Maintains controlled substances registration with state and federal authorities. Have experience in hospice or palliative care and/or training in end of life care. Participates in ongoing medical education activities related to the medical care of hospice and palliative care patients.

$1,000.00 per month
