Job Description

Join Our Team as a Board-Certified Neonatologist Located in Roanoke, Virginia, the Carilion Clinic Children s Hospital is seeking a dedicated Board-Certified Neonatologist (MD/DO) to step into a Practice Medical Director role. This premier facility houses a high-acuity Level
IIIB NICU
with 60 beds and approximately 625 annual admissions. The hospital is aligned with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, offering a unique opportunity for clinical excellence, quality initiatives, and academic advancement.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide clinical care in a Level
IIIB NICU.
Oversee clinical operations and provider performance as the Practice Medical Director. Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Drive clinical innovation and program development within the neonatal service line. Collaborate with hospital leadership and academic partners to expand neonatal services. Participate in teaching responsibilities for medical students and residents. Engage in educational programming such as Grand Rounds and simulation Boot Camps. Mentor residents in quality improvement and research projects. Support scholarly initiatives in partnership with the medical school. Work alongside multidisciplinary pediatric subspecialists. Utilize advanced neonatal therapies like high-frequency ventilation and nitric oxide therapy.
Qualifications:
Board Certified in Neonatology (not accepting board eligible). MD or DO degree. Virginia Medical License (or willingness to obtain). Leadership experience in NICU or clinical program development. Neonatology experience (experienced candidates only). Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within the last 30 days). DEA (must be obtained prior to start).
License and Certification Requirements:
MD or DO degree. Board Certification in Neonatology. Virginia Medical License or willingness to obtain.
