The Opportunity Champion Vituity's purpose, mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities. Develop and execute a comprehensive system-wide or regional annual practice management plan for designated practices. Align Medical Directors and Practice Management Teams to system/region performance goals. Ensure compliance with Vituity policies and fiduciary obligations. Represent Vituity in system/regional governance and executive leadership forums. Accountable for overall system/regional financial performance and practice solvency at assigned practices. Review monthly practice performance reports and ensure corrective action. Optimize documentation, coding, reimbursement, and productivity metrics. Partner with Regional Director on contract negotiations, renewals, and managed care discussions. Operate new practices to budget and oversee Year One performance stabilization. Ensure Practice Management Team (PMT) demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of hospital expectations and rigorously uphold compliance with all contract terms. Ensure system-wide/regional operational and quality metrics exceed contractual benchmarks. Lead performance improvement initiatives across practices. Drive specialty integration across the acute care continuum. Oversee regulatory, documentation, and compliance standards. Mentor and hold Practice Management Teams (PMT) accountable for performance outcomes. Mentor and hold practice Medical Director accountable for practice culture, performance, and financial outcomes in alignment with the Medical Director job description. Ensure adequate practice management teams (PMT) are formed to carry out performance, operations, and financial outcomes at the practice. Support recruitment, onboarding, and leadership succession planning. Promote inclusive leadership and equitable practices. Participate in leadership development programs. Ensure Practice Management Teams (PMT) are participating in leadership development programs. Maintain executive-level relationships with CEO, CMO, COO, CFO, and CNO. Meet regularly with health system or regional leadership to review performance and strategy. Serve as strategic advisor regarding throughput, quality, and service line growth. Monitor and intervene appropriately in hospital/provider conflicts with appropriate involvement of practice Regional Director (RD). Ensure Practice Management Team (PMT) of the practice has their team appropriately represented and demonstrates their value through leadership roles (as applicable) and/or participation with hospital management, medical staff leadership, Medical Executive, Medical Staff and other hospital committees, and within the local community. Required Experiences and Competencies Licensed physician as a Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) required. Must maintain membership and privileges on the clinical site's medical staff and comply with and abide by the bylaws, rules and regulations, and the policies and procedures of the clinical site's medical staff where services are being provided. Must hold and maintain a current, valid, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state in which the clinical site is located and services are being provided. Physician Partner status required. Demonstrated operational and fiscal management expertise required. Ability to internalize organizational mission and values and translate strategic priorities into actionable practice-level goals. Skill in developing, executing, and adjusting annual practice management plans across multiple sites or a region. Ability to align Medical Directors and Practice Management Teams around shared performance goals and hold them accountable. Working knowledge of organizational policy, fiduciary duty, and regulatory compliance, with discipline to enforce consistently. Executive presence and credibility representing the organization in governance and leadership forums. Financial acumen to interpret P&L statements and performance reports and take timely corrective action. Knowledge of documentation, coding, reimbursement, and productivity metrics sufficient to drive improvement. Skill in contract negotiations, renewals, and managed care discussions. Ability to operate new practices to budget and manage Year One stabilization. Ability to monitor and exceed contractual quality and operational benchmarks across practices. Familiarity with performance-improvement methodologies and ability to lead multi-site initiatives. Ability to drive specialty integration across the acute care continuum. Skill in mentoring and holding PMTs and practice MDs accountable for performance, financial, and cultural outcomes. Ability to assess needs and build appropriate management teams to deliver on practice goals. Competency in recruitment, onboarding, and leadership succession planning. Commitment to inclusive leadership and equitable practices. Active participation in and promotion of leadership development for self and direct reports. Ability to build and sustain relationships with C-suite stakeholders (CEO, CMO, COO, CFO, CNO). Ability to advise health system leadership on throughput, quality, and service-line growth. Skill in identifying and appropriately intervening in hospital/provider conflicts, escalating to Regional Director when needed. Ability to ensure practice teams are visibly represented in hospital committees, medical staff leadership, and the local community. Clear communication across clinical, administrative, and executive audiences. Sound judgment prioritizing competing financial, operational, quality, and people demands.   • $900,000, depending on site, specialty, clinical volume, schedule, and experience.
Compensation for part-time and per diem roles is prorated based on clinical hours worked. In addition, Vituity physicians participate in our partnership model from day one, which includes profit distributions, equity ownership, and K-1 tax advantages. Total compensation including partnership income varies by site and may significantly exceed the range shown.
