Nights Maintenance Welder Location:

Milwaukee, WI

Shift:

Nights | Monday-Friday (Start time: 4:00 PM | End time: ~12:00 AM-3:00 AM)

Hours:

45-60 hours/week (overtime as needed)

Pay:

$27-$30/hour + $0.85/hour shift differential (Based on experience)

Employment Type:

Direct Hire We are actively seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Welder for our night shift to support both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of our industrial equipment, with a focus on our auto shredder system. While prior experience with auto shredders is not required, the ideal candidate will have wire or stick welding experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the drive to grow within our maintenance team. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with the intent to convert to a direct hire once initial paperwork is processed.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine and emergency maintenance on heavy industrial equipment, including auto shredder systems.

Conduct welding repairs (wire or stick) on structural components and machinery.

Assist with maintenance of conveyor belt systems and other moving equipment.

Work alongside the Maintenance Supervisor, Operations Supervisors, and experienced millwright contractors.

Participate in inspection and troubleshooting of mechanical issues to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.

Maintain safety standards while working in and around high-risk machinery.

Collaborate with a team of 4-5 direct-hire maintenance employees.

Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.

Be flexible with shift end-times depending on workload and emergencies.

Qualifications:
Required:

Wire welding or stick welding experience in an industrial or mechanical setting.

Preferred:

Experience working on conveyor belt systems or similar mechanical equipment.

Strong mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn and be trained.

Ability to work nights and flexible hours (between 45-60 hours/week).

Comfortable working in an industrial environment with heavy machinery.

Reliable, team-oriented, and safety-conscious.

Willingness to work alongside experienced millwrights and contractors to build skills.
