32778 Acquires patient data from medical imaging devices such as CT, PET, and MRI, accurately fusing these diagnostic studies with treatment planning CT data sets. Interprets criteria and develops patient treatment plans based on relevant protocols. Contours critical normal structures with extreme accuracy using knowledge of 3D CT anatomy. Designs patient radiation treatment plans using 3D treatment planning computers to deliver radiation to tumor sites while sparing critical normal structures. Performs second check calculations to verify the mathematical accuracy of computer-generated patient treatment plans. Generates and performs quality assurance plans to ensure accurate delivery of prescribed doses. Transfers all technical documentation and plan parameters into the treatment preparation site and delivery unit to ensure accurate radiation treatment. Utilizes knowledge of radioactive isotopes, radioisotope decay, and radioactive brachytherapy implants. Designs real-time brachytherapy treatment plans using various applicators and protocols. Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range:
