Standard Shift, Monday - Friday (40 Hours/Week)

Summary:

Work under direct supervision of Medical Physicist (Radiation Oncology Physicist) and shall be accountable to the Chief of Radiation Oncology.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine quality control tests on linear accelerator, simulator, and associated equipment. Perform clinical dosimetry measurements. Check charts of patients under treatment for completeness and accuracy and verify treatment parameters. Maintain patient database for record and verify system Assist in fabrication of treatment blocks and patient positioning devices. Maintain familiarity with the proper use of radiation therapy equipment and demonstrate capability and efficiency in the operation of required equipment.

Requirements:

Degree/Education:

Certified Medical Dosimetrist (SENIOR) and shall have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in a physical, radiological, biological science, or engineering field from an accredited educational institution. Completion of a Medical Dosimetry program of at least 12 months that has been accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or completion of 36 months of clinical medical dosimetry experience under the direction of a certified medical dosimetrist or Medical Physicist (Radiation Oncology Physicist) and completion of 24 continuing education credits approved by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board. Certifications (in addition to Basic Life Support): Possess and maintain certification as a Medical Dosimetrist by MDCB.

Board Certification:

Certified Medical Dosimetrist (SENIOR) shall be certified by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board- e.g. 'CMD'.

Duty Hours:

Monday through Friday between 06:00 AM and 6:00 PM according to established individual schedules based on the department needs not to exceed 8 hours/day excluding a 1-hour lunch. RN_TSC About our
