Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and personable Exam Room Advocate (ERA) to join our veterinary team. Our goal is to provide our doctors and medical staff with the support and resources they need to deliver exceptional patient care and client service. The Exam Room Advocate plays an important role in helping us accomplish that goal. The ideal candidate is dependable, positive, organized, and able to communicate effectively with both clients and team members. This position requires the ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and remain adaptable in a fast-paced veterinary hospital environment. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist veterinarians during appointments and support the flow of exam rooms. Accurately document medical notes and maintain complete electronic medical records. Prepare and present treatment plans and estimates to clients. Educate clients regarding veterinarian recommendations, preventive care, medications, products, and hospital services. Communicate clearly and professionally with clients throughout their visit. Support doctors and other team members to help maintain efficient patient and client flow. Help ensure clients understand recommended services, next steps, and follow-up care. Maintain a professional, compassionate, and service-focused approach with clients and patients. Assist with other hospital duties as needed to support daily operations and the veterinary team.
Qualifications Applicants should:
Have a High School Diploma or GED. Have a minimum of 3 years of customer service experience. Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Demonstrate strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills. Be able to adapt to changing priorities, delays, and unexpected situations. Have a strong work ethic and positive, professional attitude. Be committed to providing exceptional service to both clients and patients. Veterinary experience is strongly preferred. Candidates with previous veterinary hospital experience and familiarity with veterinary terminology, medical records, treatment plans, and client education are especially encouraged to apply.
