We are seeking a passionate and experienced Veterinary Technician Supervisor to lead one of New England's premier specialty neurology programs. Working alongside board-certified neurologists, residents, and a collaborative team of specialists, you will help deliver advanced medical and surgical care to patients with complex neurologic diseases. Our service utilizes cutting-edge technology , including an in-house high-field MRI, CT, digital radiography, and specialized neurologic diagnostics, while performing advanced spinal and brain surgeries, managing complex seizure disorders, and providing emergency neurology services. With the support of their technicians, assistants, and liaisons the hospital teams work closely together to deliver the highest quality of care.About You:
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician who is passionate about leading others while continuing to provide exceptional patient care. As the Neurology Supervisor , you will divide your time between working as an advanced specialty technician and providing day-to-day leadership for the Neurology team. You will coach, mentor, and develop staff while helping coordinate workflow, support operational excellence, and foster a positive team culture. This is a working supervisor position. You will spend the majority of your time providing direct patient care while leading and supporting the daily operations of the Neurology service. The ideal candidate demonstrates sound clinical judgment, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced specialty environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as this role requires building relationships with clients, doctors, and team members while confidently navigating challenging conversations when needed. Candidates should be proficient in anesthesia, including advanced anesthesia monitoring and the operation and troubleshooting of mechanical ventilators. Experience with CPR, EzyVet, and SmartFlow is preferred but not required. In addition, you will promote hospital directives and protocols while modeling a respectful, collaborative, and productive work environment. Advanced anesthesia monitoring and patient management Mechanical ventilator operation and troubleshooting CPR proficiency Phlebotomy Peripheral IV catheter placement Nursing care and husbandry of hospitalized patients Knowledge of basic laboratory diagnostics Knowledge of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment, including proper use, care, and maintenance Ability to assess client needs while delivering exceptional customer service Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary teamCompensation:
$26.50-$36.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Candidates possessing a Veterinary Technician Specialty (VTS) in Neurology will receive increased compensation commensurate with their advanced training and specialty certification.Anticipated schedule:
This is aFull-Time Position:
4 days a week / 10-hour shifts / Weekend rotation is required.- Must be available for flexible shifts and on call when needed.
- Will be required to work one major and one minor holiday per year.
- Participation in an on-call rotation as needed.
