Our office provides comprehensive eye exams & contact lens fittings; dry eye treatments such as IPL & OptiLIFT; speciality contact lenses, such as scleral lens fittings and OrthoK treatment. Planet Vision EyeCare emphasizes personalized care and high standards of customer service. The practice values collaboration among eye care professionals to deliver a welcoming, efficient, and patient-centered experience for individuals and families. Role Description We are seeking a full-time Licensed Optician with proven experience growing an optical, elevating patient care, and leading with professionalism. You'll begin by strengthening our optical performance and, once leadership qualities are demonstrated, have a clear pathway to Office Manager.
Initial Responsibilities Optical Growth & Strategy:
Improve capture rate, elevate product mix, and deliver a boutique‑level patient experience.
Clinical Optical Expertise:
Guide patients through lifestyle‑based lens/frame selection and confidently troubleshoot prescriptions. High‑
Quality Dispensing:
Ensure accurate, satisfaction‑driven dispensing while supporting practice profitability.
Patient Experience Leadership:
Communicate warmly, resolve concerns independently, and maintain a calm, solutions‑focused approach.
Workflow Collaboration:
Support smooth daily operations across optical, front desk, and clinical teams. Starting Salary $30/hr, with additional compensation as responsibilities expand. Basic Optician Qualifications Strong knowledge of optics and lens technologies, including frame selection and fitting. Experience in optometry settings and familiarity with eye exams and specialty contact lenses. Proven commitment to customer satisfaction and delivering attentive, personalized service. Excellent customer service skills, including clear communication and patient education. Active optician license in the state of Florida or eligibility to obtain licensure. Attention to detail in measurements, prescription verification, and product quality checks. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based clinical environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Basic computer skills and comfort using practice management or EHR systems; prior optical retail or clinic experience is beneficial.

$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
