Practice Operations Manager - Part Time We are a private optometry practice seeking a hands-on Practice Operations Manager to help keep our office organized, efficient, and running smoothly. This role is more than supervising employees or creating schedules. We are looking for someone who notices when something is not working, takes initiative to find a solution, follows through, and helps the team stay organized and accountable. Previous management experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with experience in optometry, optical, healthcare, or a medical-office setting who are ready to grow into an operations leadership role are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day office operations. Help organize staff workflow and responsibilities. Identify workflow problems and recommend solutions. Help create and maintain office procedures and checklists. Monitor outstanding tasks and follow-up. Support staff training and cross-training. Help maintain employee accountability and communication. Assist with onboarding new employees. Help improve patient flow and office efficiency. Lead or assist with staff meetings and huddles. Communicate operational concerns to the practice owner. Step in to support the team when needed. Cross-Training & Patient Support Because we are a small private practice, our team works together. The Practice Operations Manager will be expected to learn and understand our major office functions, including: Answering phones and taking messages. Scheduling appointments. Checking patients in and out. Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits. Basic clinical/pretesting workflow. Optical workflow and patient service. The manager should be willing and able to provide coverage when needed while ensuring each area of the practice has clear ownership and accountability. Comfortable working closely with the practice owner while taking increasing ownership of day-to-day operations. Qualifications Experience in optometric, optical, healthcare, or a medical-office environment strongly preferred . Previous management, supervisory, team-lead, training, or coordinator experience is a plus but not required . Experienced opticians, optometric assistants, medical-office staff, team leads, and similar healthcare professionals who are ready to move into an operations role are encouraged to apply. Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills. Experience with scheduling, insurance verification, patient flow, or healthcare office operations preferred. We are especially interested in candidates who can demonstrate a history of taking initiative, improving a process, solving problems, or helping a team work more effectively .
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 30.0 per week
