Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Experienced Only (ABO prefered but not necessary) to join our clients dynamic optical team. In this vital role, you will leverage your expertise in optics, eyewear fitting, and patient care to deliver exceptional service to our diverse clientele. Your knowledge of optometric, medical terminology, and sales will ensure precise dispensing and adherence to clinical confidentiality standards. This management position offers an exciting opportunity to combine technical proficiency with outstanding customer service, all while working in a fast-paced retail environment dedicated to improving vision health. Don't miss out on this oppertunity! Responsibilities Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear by conducting thorough consultations and understanding their visual needs. Dispense spectacle lenses and perform precise eyewear fittings, adjustments, and repairs to ensure optimal comfort and vision correction. Utilize optical laboratory experience to verify lens prescriptions, process orders, and coordinate with labs for custom lens fabrication. Eyefinity Encompas EPM/EHR software accurately for transactions and patient record management. Educate patients on eyewear options, lens features, and proper care techniques while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Follow HIPAA guidelines and clinical confidentiality policies when handling medical records and patient information. Conduct basic vital signs assessments when necessary, especially in senior or pediatric care settings, ensuring compliance with health regulation policies. Maintain a clean, organized workspace adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols aligned with medical billing and healthcare regulations. Stay informed about current ophthalmology advancements, state healthcare regulations, and medical coding practices relevant to optical services. Experience Proven retail optometry or optical experience with a strong background in spectacle lens dispensing and eyewear fittings. Management skills are essential with ability to train staff. Demonstrated knowledge of optometric principles, anatomy, physiology related to vision health, and medical terminology. Experience working with Encompass EPM/EHR Familiarity with medical billing procedures, coding standards, HIPAA compliance, and clinic experience preferred. Prior involvement in retail sales environments with retail math skills to manage inventory and sales targets effectively.
