Dental Office Manager Confidential Dental Practice - Salisbury, NC AreaFull-Time | Monday-Thursday A growing, established dental practice in the Salisbury, NC area is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and motivated Dental Office Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, lead the team, and help drive continued practice growth. Position Overview We are looking for a true practice leader who can take ownership of daily operations, maintain team accountability, monitor practice performance, and create an excellent experience for both patients and employees. The ideal candidate is proactive, solution-oriented, comfortable working with performance metrics, and capable of managing a busy dental practice with limited day-to-day supervision from the practice owner. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily administrative and business operations of the dental practice Lead, support, and hold team members accountable to established expectations and policies Coordinate workflow between the front office, clinical team, hygiene department, and providers Monitor doctor and hygiene schedules to maximize productivity and minimize unused appointment time Monitor collections, accounts receivable, outstanding insurance claims, and patient balances Oversee insurance verification, claims follow-up, and other insurance-related workflows Monitor treatment plans and patient follow-up to support case acceptance Help reduce cancellations, no-shows, and unfilled appointment time Manage employee schedules, attendance, timekeeping, PTO requests, and adherence to office policies Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management Lead or participate in morning huddles and team meetings Address patient concerns professionally and appropriately Monitor practice KPIs and communicate performance trends to ownership Identify operational problems and proactively develop solutions Coordinate with vendors and outside service providers as necessary Help implement new systems, policies, and workflows Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable office policies Key Performance Areas The Office Manager will be expected to monitor and help improve: Collections and accounts receivable Schedule utilization Doctor and hygiene productivity Insurance claim follow-up Cancellation and no-show rates Treatment-plan follow-up and case acceptance Patient retention Staffing efficiency Employee attendance and accountability Patient experience and satisfaction Overall team performance
Qualifications Required:
Previous dental office experience Strong knowledge of dental terminology and dental-office workflows Understanding of dental insurance, claims, scheduling, collections, and accounts receivable Strong leadership and team-management abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy dental environment Professional demeanor and ability to handle difficult conversations appropriately Comfortable reviewing reports and monitoring practice KPIs Dependable, punctual, and accountable Ability to maintain strict patient, employee, and business confidentiality
Preferred:
2+ years of dental office management or dental leadership experience Experience managing a multi-provider dental practice Experience with Open Dental or similar dental practice-management software PPO dental insurance experience Experience managing insurance claims and aging reports Experience with employee onboarding, coaching, scheduling, and performance management Experience with treatment-plan presentation and case acceptance Familiarity with dental practice financial reports and operational KPIs Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a leader, problem solver, and team builder who takes ownership of their responsibilities.
