Job Summary Our outstanding dental practice is seeking an experienced and highly capable Insurance Coordinator / Treatment Coordinator to join our dedicated team. Who We're Looking For We are seeking an experienced dental professional who is knowledgeable in dental office operations, insurance coordination, treatment planning, and patient communication. This is not an entry-level position . Previous experience working in a dental office is required , with strong experience in dental insurance, treatment coordination, and front-office operations highly required . The ideal candidate is confident working independently, able to manage a high-volume workload, understands dental insurance and treatment plans, and can take ownership of day-to-day front-office responsibilities. The candidate must also be capable of stepping in and performing general front-desk/reception duties whenever needed. Responsibilities Previous dental office experience is required. Strong dental insurance knowledge and experience is required , including insurance verification, eligibility, benefits, limitations, deductibles, frequencies, waiting periods, exclusions, and coordination of benefits. Manage and coordinate dental treatment plans , including presenting treatment to patients, explaining recommended procedures and estimated financial responsibilities, and helping patients understand their treatment options. Coordinate treatment scheduling and follow-up to help ensure patients proceed with recommended care. Review insurance estimates, fee schedules, claim information, and patient financial responsibilities accurately. Handle insurance-related communications with insurance companies, including benefit inquiries, claim follow-up, predeterminations, and resolving insurance-related issues. Monitor outstanding claims and insurance accounts and follow up as necessary. Assist with accounts receivable, patient balances, payment collection, and financial arrangements . Manage and coordinate daily front-office operations and help maintain an efficient patient flow. Train, guide, and assist front-desk staff when necessary and help ensure that office protocols are consistently followed. Greet and check in/out patients in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner. Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls with appropriate and professional phone etiquette for both patients and insurance companies. Schedule and coordinate patient appointments efficiently while maintaining awareness of provider schedules and practice priorities. Maintain accurate patient documentation, insurance information, treatment records, and financial records in accordance with practice protocols. Communicate effectively with dentists, hygienists, assistants, and other members of the dental team to ensure smooth coordination of patient care. Handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a busy, high-volume dental practice . Identify and resolve front-office, scheduling, insurance, and patient-related issues with good judgment and follow-through. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable office policies and regulatory requirements. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient experience, office efficiency, and overall practice operations. Must be highly proficient with computers, dental practice management software, electronic systems, internet features, and keyboard shortcuts . Must be organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and able to prioritize tasks effectively. Must be able to cope with extensive workloads, multitasking, and a fast-paced environment without sacrificing accuracy or patient service. Must demonstrate strong communication skills, professionalism, accountability, and the ability to work independently. Qualifications Prior dental office experience is
REQUIRED.
Dental insurance coordination experience is
REQUIRED.
Treatment coordination experience is REQUIRED or strongly preferred. Previous experience as a Dental Office Manager, Insurance Coordinator, Treatment Coordinator, or experienced Dental Receptionist/Front Desk Coordinator is preferred. Strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, CDT codes, and dental insurance policies. Experience with dental practice management software is strongly preferred. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume dental environment. Ability to take initiative, follow through on responsibilities, and work as part of a team. Must be comfortable handling both management-level responsibilities and general front-desk duties when necessary. Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 - 40.0 per week
